Good for Home Use
This router seems to have problems with not-exactly-perfect ADSL lines (that other routers seem to be fine with). In addition the WiFi range isn't very good at all.
STRENGTHS:
- Very easy to set up.
- Not as dog ugly as most routers, it seems quite a bit of effort went into the aesthetics when designing it.
- The router can search for firmware upgrades and download/install them itself; no need to visit the manufacturer website on a PC.
WEAKNESSES:
- WiFi can only be used for 'general' usage even when right next to the router - it introduces quite a large amount of ping jitter (affects gaming) over WiFi.
- Your ADSL line needs to be absolutely perfect in order for this router to maintain a connection for more than a day.
BEST USES:
- Home usage.
SIMILAR ITEMS OWNED:
Various insignificant 'no-name' routers (Planet, Billion, D-Link). Tested a Asus RT-N56U from a friend which made me realize that there are far better routers out there.
RECOMMENDED ITEMS:
Asus RT-N56U (Keep in mind you will need an ADSL modem for the N56U)
