A budget SSD with handy perks
The Kingston SSDNow V300 series SSD is a true bang-for-the-buck drive to store all your important files and software on.
As we get into a age where storing data in a safe place is a must, the Kingston SSDNow series offers great storage solutions at very low prices. Whether your using it as a boot drive, storage drive, or buying it for some awesome RAID capabilities - its definitely worth it. Within a few minutes after popping it into my laptop, I'd visibly seen much faster, and more impressive results than an ordinary hard drive.
I've not had many good experiences with hard drives before. I'd always considered getting a SSD at a stage, and when my FOURTH hard drive died on me, I thought to myself, "Its time" and started scouring the internet for information and price ranges for SSD's. After a few minutes googling, I came across the Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD with a really cheap price of R1059.00 (At the time) which had also shown promising specs. Within a hour, after calling several stores and finding out that their prices are much higher than Nivo's, I ordered it. Within just a week, it was wrapped up, flown over and couriered right to my door where I met a very friendly delivery-man.
Here are some of the "Impressive Results" earlier mentioned:
Boot time of HDD: 47.78 Seconds
Boot time of SSD: 26.43 Seconds
Read speeds on SSD: ~260MB/s
Write speeds on SSD: ~96MB/s
To sum it all up, this is a real bang-for-your-buck SSD ; Its easy to use and install ; Is very portable : Its cheap and easily meets ones expectations
If your looking for a low-priced, high end SSD, I'd recommend this one to you.
STRENGTHS:
Fast ; Cheap ; Easy to use and install ; Good customer support ; Small and slim ; Modern-looking drive ; Reliable
WEAKNESSES:
Not the same speeds as advertised
BEST USES:
In laptops, desktops, RAID-Arrays, or as a boot drive along with a HDD for storage.
